Object 01 — floor luminaire · H 1780 mm

A light you never see.

Its LEDs face away from you, onto a disc that returns their light to the wall. What reaches the room is a corona — warm, glare-free, architectural.

01 — The principle

Most lamps ask to be looked at. This one looks at the room.

Section through the head of Object 01 LEDs on the inner face of the ring shine backwards onto the white rear face of the disc, which reflects the light onto the wall. From the room, the line of sight meets only the dark front of the disc. LED channel, set back 9 mm Reflector — matte white Face — spun metal, in shadow Wall — the light you live with Line of sight
Section through the head. Dimensions in millimetres, not to scale.

Glare is not a side effect. It is a design decision that somebody forgot to make.

In Object 01 the source never enters your line of sight. Ninety-six LEDs sit in a channel on the inside of the ring, aimed backwards. A disc floats 45 mm in front of them on three tension rods. Its rear face is a matte white reflector; its front face is spun metal, left in shadow.

The light you live with is the light on the wall: a soft corona, brightest at the rim of the disc, fading into the plaster. The luminaire becomes a fixed eclipse in the room.

02 — Three gestures

One line, one circle, one shadow.

  1. 01

    Stem

A solid rod rises 1.1 m from the plinth. No cable is visible: power runs through a channel drilled along its axis. A machined collar halfway up is the only control — touch to switch, hold to dim.

    Ring

Six hundred and twenty millimetres across, forty deep. It carries the light channel on its inner face, set back so that it stays out of view when you stand in front of it.

  3. 03

    Disc

Shade, reflector and signature at once. It hides the source, turns it into a surface of light, and leaves a precise dark circle at the centre of the corona.

04 — Where it belongs

For rooms that have been designed.

  • Residence

A wall with a reason to exist after dark.

Beside a sofa or at the end of a corridor, one luminaire lights the plaster instead of the people. In the evening it is often the only light a room needs.

  • Hospitality

A landmark that never dazzles a guest.

In lobbies and suites, repeated along a wall on a 2.4 m rhythm, three units read as a single gesture — and every guest sees the same calm light, wherever they stand.

  • Galleries & retail

Light that stays off the work.

Indirect light leaves objects free of hot spots and reflections. Specified in lime white, the luminaire almost disappears against a plaster wall and only the corona remains.
