Terms and scope

How we work, in plain language.

This page summarises the terms every project follows. It is not a contract: the scope, price and terms of each project are confirmed in writing in its proposal.

What every project includes

  • Design and development within the scope agreed in the proposal.
  • A layout that works on phones, tablets and desktop.
  • Search foundations: titles, descriptions, structure, sitemap and structured data.
  • Publication on your own domain.
  • A handoff document and a Digital Asset Folder in your name.

What is not included unless the proposal says so

  • Content you edit yourself, online sales, bookings, user accounts or integrations. These are added to a project when it needs them, with their own scope and price.
  • Brand strategy, naming or trademark registration.
  • Professional photography, social media management or paid advertising.
  • Unlimited revisions or unlimited support.
  • Legal, tax or regulatory advice.

Proposal, prices and payment

  • Published prices are starting points in USD. The price of each project is fixed in its proposal.
  • 50% reserves your place in the schedule and starts the work.
  • The remaining 50% is paid after you approve the final preview, before publication and handoff.
  • Custom projects may be paid by milestones instead.
  • Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately, and only done once you accept it.
  • Payment instructions come with the proposal. Depending on where you are, payment can be made by card payment link, PayPal, Wise, bank transfer or an available local method.

Timeline

  • The timeline starts once the proposal is accepted, the first payment is received and we have the minimum material we need.
  • Delays in receiving materials or approvals move the delivery date by the same amount.

Revisions

  • Each project includes a defined round of changes, agreed in the proposal.
  • Revisions refine what was agreed. New requirements are quoted separately.

Materials

  • You provide the materials you already have: logo, photos, texts.
  • If the project includes a visual identity, we create what is missing within that scope.

Paused projects

  • If a project pauses on your side, we hold your place for a period agreed in the proposal.
  • After that period, restarting may mean scheduling the rest of the work for a later month.

Ownership and handoff

  • The website, domain, hosting, files and assets created for the project are yours.
  • At handoff, after the final payment, everything is delivered in your Digital Asset Folder with its handoff document.
  • You can take the project to any other team at any time.
  • The site's footer carries a discreet credit to OwnSite Studio for the web work — never for your content.

Accounts and security

  • Accounts that matter are set up with two-factor authentication where the service allows it.
  • Every account is documented: what it is for, who controls it and how to reach it.
  • After handoff you can revoke any access we held. The steps are in the handoff document.

Maintenance

  • Maintenance is optional. The site does not depend on it to stay online.
  • When contracted, it covers defined tasks within an agreed scope — not unlimited changes or support.

What we never guarantee

  • Search rankings or inclusion in AI-powered search.
  • Traffic, sales or any specific business result.
